Ok yes wevel you are correct on the rooster tail....its a waste of power seeing it.....looks cool but thats all. for future refernce most boats will run there best.

What's the deal with rooster tails? racing boats that don't have anything but the lower unit in the water throw a big rooster tail, but what about on bass boats?. Rooster tails, what about them the propellers on high performance bass boats often times most experts will tell you that a little rooster tail is quite normal. Depends on the boat, my hull likes the motor up high. i couldn't rooster tail if i wanted to, not like i would want to anyway, it's when you overtrim..
